This premium mil-spec material has many advantages over the standard backpacking tarp. The OCP fabric has up to five time the amount of water repellant coating of other tarps, which produces a more durable finish. Unlike other standard backpacking tarps, this material is also fire retardant, as well as IR compliant.
Made in the USA. All OCP items are Berry Amendment Compliant and a letter is available upon request to US Government and Military organizations.

Best Mini Tarp Shelter or Ground Sheet
Very impressed. This was my first Bush Craft Outfitter purchase. I was looking for a tarp that I could use as a tarp overhead for sun or rain protection, a ground cloth to use under my foam or air mattress, or as top sheet over my sleeping bag or Poncho Liner blanket to increase warmth on a cold night. This tarp does all three of these assignments excellently. The construction is top notch, every nylon anchor point is well sewn. I chose the MEST size because it is one sheet, there is no seam in this tarp. The BCO MEST tarp is perfect for one person to sit under as an improvised shade - two can sit or lay down in a pinch. I use camouflage painted collapsible aluminum poles and paracord to set this up. Do not allow the lack of grommets to turn you off. If you insert the tip of your pole in the nylon loop and then twist the pole in circles, the nylon loop will “tourniquet” itself to the pole and become rock solid. Two poles and four guy lines and four tent stakes makes this a great shelter. The water proof coating appears to be excellent as well. If needed I can always apply Camp Dry to the outside. The Multicam pattern is spot on. This tarp comes with a separate Multicam stuff sack. I researched this purchase a lot before I purchased this. I considered Kifaru, Snugpak, and others and this product appeared to be the most reliable and affordable. It was also the only one available in a Multicam option. Sadly I am now considering purchasing a MEST Poncho in Multicam and possibly also the 10’ x 10’ tarp in Multicam. Yes I would recommend. Yes I would buy again.

Multicam MEST 5x8
So far since I've had it it seems like a very good product. It's very wind resistant and water resistant and packs up very small in its eyes. I added 50 ft of paracord and 8 tent Stakes inside the same bag. I haven't used it for a soft back glitter but I'd be willing to trust that it would work. Highly would recommend for any survival kits, Preppers, military and or private Contracting businesses
