Product Description
Bushcraft Outfitters MEST™ Poncho - Olive Drab
While useful as a stand-alone item, the MEST™ Poncho can also compliment one of our tarps or an existing shelter system you currently have.
The MEST™ Poncho can be used as a poncho, ground cloth, emergency shelter, improvised pack cover, improvised litter, etc.
In May 2018 we upgraded the hoods on the standard MEST Ponchos. They are now larger hoods and have a binder strip sewn in the seams to divert water.
Specs:
- Size: 58"X 93"
- 70D nylon
- Tabs: 8 perimeter
- Weight: 13.2 oz
- Includes stuff sack
- Hydrostatic Head: >2000 mm
We recommend sealing this poncho with our Fast Cure Seam Sealant found on the line/shelter accessories page. You simply apply a thin even coat along the hood seams being sure to cover all of the exposed threads/folds in the fabric and let stand overnight to dry. This works best when you seal the outside layer of the poncho.
Made in the USA.

OD poncho
Definitely can tell it’s a quality product. I was surprised how little space it takes up in my day pack. That’s the primary reason I bought it. I have 3 BCO tarps and this is the same quality product I would have expected. Definitely worth the price

Most Poncho, od
Second tarp I've bought through bco. Hood fits perfect, not too tight. Excellent construction. Well worth the money! Bco makes the best tarps in my opinion.

Best Poncho Ever
It’s perfect in length. I am 5’5” and they cover my legs well.

Updated MEST Poncho
Just received the 2018 updated MEST poncho in OD, and I'm pleasantly surprised by it. I heard that the hood size was a concern in the previous model, but I find the hood on this one quite large. In fact, I have to cinch it down with the shock cord otherwise it feels a little -too- large, but better larger than smaller. It was a good update. The brim also feels like it will really keep the water off my face too. The material doesn't feel like it will wet out at all but I'll need to put that to the test to make that claim. The weight came in exactly as described, 11.1oz. So far, it's a 4 star buy, and if it keeps me dry it's an easy 5 star. Great little poncho/tarp. I'm very glad I went with this instead of a ridiculously expensive lightweight rain jacket that would likely wet through.
