Many people choose not to seam seal their tarps but for the maximum level of waterproofing we recommend any tarp be treated along the center seam. The recommended sealer for this tarp is our Fast Cure Seam Sealant found on the line/shelter accessories page. You simply apply a thin even coat along the center seam being sure to cover all of the exposed threads/folds in the fabric and let stand overnight to dry. This works best when you seal the outside layer of the tarp and should be done with the seam under mild tension such as when the tarp is in an A-frame configuration.

The best. Set up at over 12,000 ft on saddle of CO’s Montezuma’s Peak the winds strong all night. Tarp was still good in morning, as good as new. The tie outs are so convenient. Thanks for good product. I used this on My CDT hike n that night I remember was a good “test” of that tarp. -The White Mexican

Great purchase!
Pitched a couple times so far, looks like a sturdy tarp. Phenomenal price for the weight and size combination. I feel confident in this BCO tarp as my only shelter for my next trip out (though it will be my first trip with it in tow). My only request for a future buy would be to put center loops on the "sides" (the 7' length) of the tarp as well as the 10' front/back for a long, lower A-frame pitch if one wanted (as well as other setup options). I believe you can get better value for your money than a Bushcraft Outfitters tarp.
